Description
This vintage gas lantern caught my eye as we toured the Historic French Quarter of New Orleans. It was warm, sunny day shortly after noon. Modern, electric lanterns usually have a sensor on them that turn the lights on or off depending on the surrounding brightness. But this old lantern is Always On. How appropriate for the French Quarter that is always open!

I thought I had posted a comment on this shot when I voted on it in a contest it was in. Better late than never! Gas must be cheap in Mississippi! Like the fact that you included corner of the door. Well done Kathy!~DUG
Kathy K McClellan replied:
Thanks, DUG. I would guess that everything is cheap in MS compared to CA!

Cool!
Kathy K McClellan replied:
I took this when Dolores came to visit and she wanted to go to The French Quarter. I took maybe 6-8 shots before she said, "Why are you taking a picture of a window?" :)
