Description
Antrim United Methodist Church Collage by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day 236 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
Antrim United Methodist Church in Antrim, Ohio (USA) is over 150 years old. It is part of the Southern Hills District in the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church.
The church has an interesting architecture and an open bell tower topped with a short but wide steeple. The roof over the short steeple is clad in metal and the sides of the tower appear to now be clad in vinyl siding, although originally that siding would have been made of wood.
The tower above the roof line is made up of three distinct sections. The first section is an enclosed base for the second section which is the open area where the bell is located. The final section is the steeple over the open bell section.
All three of these sections are built up from a base that extends from ground level to the roof-line.
One of the photographs shows the west side of the church with the bell tower in view and another photograph shows the east side of the church with the bay shaped addition.
The third and vertical image is a close up of the open bell tower and steeple.
These photographs were taken at dusk, after the sun had set.
