I worked 5 weeks helping out in Gulfport,MS arriving 6 days after Katrina's landfall. I have a lot of photos from that experience and the ones I treasure are of the most wonderful folks in the world that I met there.I instantly recognized the beach (funny how the mind works) but did not recognize the crosses then I read your description and understood why. A pre-Katrina memory is a treasure too. Great shot.
Kathy K McClellan replied:
Laura, there is no way to thank you enough for your help after Katrina. The volunteers who came (and who are STILL coming) to help clean up and rebuild are saints. There are many families that would still be in temporary shelter if it hadn't been for those of you who came to help. God Bless You!

Congrats for placing second in the What Does Eater Mean to you Contest!

Took second and third! Congratulations! Who would have thought that the true meaning of Easter, the empty cross, would lose out to the guy that was hanging there! OH WELL, you nearly had him whooped! Well done!~DUG
Kathy K McClellan replied:
LOL...great point, DUG! Thanks.

"Surely, today you will be with me in heaven" (Dug's paraphrase as to what I remember) Suppose the three posts in the water represent their souls in heaven? Pleasant representation of such a terrible, although necessary, day. Nice work Kathy!~DUG
Kathy K McClellan replied:
DUG, how observant to see the posts in the water! Thanks for the comment.
