Description
Boom Ballet by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day 289 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
An enormous amount of equipment, including multiple cranes, was involved in rebuilding the bridge over the Bay of Saint Louis in Mississippi (USA) after Hurricane Katrina. Crawling cranes were shipped in and out by barge.
On the evening before this barge was towed out of the bay, the crane operators set their lattice booms in the positions you see in this image.
Giving the photograph the effect of a film negative accents the lattice booms and cables and their artistic connections as seen from across the bay.
