Description
Canine Christmas Clothing by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day Five of the Seven Day Art Challenge (Theme: Clothing).
Canines have survived outdoors in cold weather for billions of years without wearing any type of clothing. However, domesticated dogs have often been acclimated to indoor temperatures.
For those domesticated dogs it may be necessary in very cold weather to provide some clothing to protect them from the extreme cold.
Other pet owners like to dress their dogs as a matter of fashion.
This image shows three sweaters made for small dogs. All three sweaters have holiday designs or colors.
One sweater has reindeer shapes across the bottom and a hood with antlers. The second sweater has a turn down turtle neck collar with the word Joy sewn in using a satin material. That sweater also features small jingle bells.
The third sweater shown is a black and red plaid sweater with a red collar.
These three sweaters were purchased for a small chihuahua who is acclimated to indoor temperatures. She is not used to cold temperatures and wears one of those sweaters during the holiday season whenever she will be spending an extended amount of time outside in very low winter temperatures.
This image is part of the Going To The Dogs Collection. All of the artist's profit from any purchase of prints, cards or products in this collection will be donated to Chloe's Fund (a medical fund for shelter animals that provides life saving treatments and surgery in Lauderdale County, Alabama {USA} and the surrounding areas).
