Essential oils are extracts from the roots, leaves, flowers or seeds of fragrant plants. They are called essential because they retain the essence of the plant.
This image shows multiple essential oil jars lined up on a kitchen counter. The bottles containing the oils are dark glass to protect the oils from bright light.
Three individual oils are displayed in front of the lineup of oils. These three oils are shown with their respective unprocessed plant material.
