Female Hummingbird Resting In Alabama by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image of a Female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird.
This Female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird was photographed in Florence, Alabama (USA) which is located in the state's Northwest corner.
She is resting on the branch of a tall evergreen shrub after drinking sugar water from a human supplied feeder just out of view.
Notice how the early morning sun has highlighted her cream colored chest that contrasts with the dark red brick wall behind her.
The photograph was taken in Mid September as many species of birds were migrating south for the North American winter.
She will spend a little more time in the Florence area before heading further south most likely to Mexico, although if the winter is a mild one she may stay in the warmer areas of the United States along the Gulf Of Mexico.
