Description
Normally when one thinks of the term Five O'clock shadow a stubble of beard on a man's face comes to mind. It refers to the hair growth late in the day after a morning shave.
The term became popular in the 1930s after a razor company's marketing campaign.
The Five O'clock shadow that is posted here is an image taken on a December evening when the sun was setting low on the southwestern horizon. Sunlight shining through the trees outside the window and a round mirror reflecting the incoming light has produced odd shaped shadows as well as very precise ones.
Soft tones lend a relaxing feel to this image making it suitable for any office, den or bedroom.
