Description
Gas Refinery View by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day 216 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
This was our view from the second floor of a hotel in Southeastern Ohio, utility wires and all!
Fracking for oil and gas is big business in that part of the country and this was one of many gas refineries in the area.
Note the number of railway tracks going in and out of the refinery and the wind socks on site.
There were actually electrical substations at each refinery and close to some of the wells, supplying energy to drill and refine energy.
The hotel and many of the local businesses had well used boot scrapers at their entrances and notices for "workers" to please use them or boot covers before entering.
Dirty, nasty work for the fossil fuel industry is abundant in that region of the country, as it is in other regions.
