Good Friday is the a day after Maundy Thursday, the Friday before Easter Sunday, and for Christians it is a remembrance of Jesus's crucifixion.
The cross in this image holds issues and emotions and solutions. Those items written on the horizontal arms of the cross are representative of negative or destructive issues. The ones on the upright support of the cross are positive and represent God's solutions to man's issues.
Perhaps this image will explain why a Sorrowful Friday would be called Good Friday.
