Infrared Bayou Bridge by Kathy K. McClellan is an image created for Day 114 of the Journal 2022 Challenge.
Bayous have always been somewhat mysterious to me. Cutting through muddy marshland, their dark water rises and falls with the tides. Hundreds of creatures live and breed along their banks as well as in their depths.
When I looked at the photograph of a modern bridge over an ancient bayou I saw an interesting contrast between man and nature.
Giving the photograph an infrared treatment added more contrast to the scene. Now we not only have the contrast between man and nature but also between the light and the dark which has been accentuated.
