When I saw this double, distorted tree trunk in Spring Park, Tuscumbia, Alabama (USA), the first thing I thought was that it looked like the trunk of the tree was inside out.
It appears that the trunk has opened up and exposed the inside of the tree. My second thought was that I was seeing several little faces with eyes looking back at me.
Did I mention that I was also fascinated with how the small branches seemed to hang over this inside out trunk protecting it from the sun like an umbrella will protect a human from the rain?
So much to see and study in this photograph and so many more trees distorted in such a fascinating manner in Spring Park!
