Description
Lampposts At Cadiz Courthouse by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day 239 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
These lights at the top of a metal post are a set of two that flank the front entrance stairs to the Harrison County Courthouse in Cadiz, Ohio (USA).
The lights shown are a four arm style with all four globes on one post. These lights as well as the five arm style were popular in the late 1880s.
The supporting post is painted cast iron. The globes are made from a white frosted glass.
These lamps would light up an area all around the metal post, both the steps leading to the front doors and the doors on the ground level.
The courthouse was built between 1883-1885 and underwent repairs and renovations in 1993. It was listed on The National Register of Historic Places on July 18, 1974.
