Leaving The Station by Kathy K. McClellan is an image created for Day 149 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
Spring Park in Tuscumbia, Alabama (USA) has several attractions including this train that takes passengers around the perimeter of the park. You can see the front of the engine in this photograph as the train leaves the station to begin it's tour around the park.
The train is a 24' gauge train that is powered by an automobile engine. It is a C.P. Huntington built by the Chance Rides, Inc. company out of Wichita, Kansas. Chance Rides as been building these trains and other amusement rides for over 60 years. The train engine in Spring Park is #718.
Railroad crossing guards with crossing arms, lights and bells, and a covered bridge over Spring Creek enhance the tour of the park from the train.

Thanks Mary. The conductor told me that there are days that the train stays full all day long with lines of people still waiting to ride.
