Description
Millen Methodist Church Side View is a photograph taken by Kathy K. McClellan showing the side of the United Methodist Church in Millen, Georgia USA. Processing and uploading was done for Day Two of the Five Day Architecture Challenge.
Millen's United Methodist Church was constructed between 1909-1910. The front facade boasts of tall columns on either side of the portico that somewhat obscure the stained glass windows over the doorways. However, the side view showcases these gorgeous stained glass windows.
Brickwork over the windows follow the arched tops and the dome includes more arched, stained glass windows that let light into the space above a rose window.
A newer addition connects to the rear of the original structure in the form of a U and surrounds an enclosed courtyard.
The original building is a mix of Classic and Richardsonian Romanesque style.

Very nice, Kathy. Looks like a wonderful old church. Love the lighting, which I assume is late afternoon, judging from the shadows and highlighed building to the left.
