Description
Miniature Golf Graveyard by Kathy K. McClellan is a collage of images created for Day 103 of the Journal 2022 Challenge.
This fun image shows a cemetery for broken and abandoned pieces that were once part of a miniature golf course. A sign states that the graves are for the old Waldon's Landing Firehouse Golf course critters. Individual headstones were erected for several of the critters and include the fireman's symbol (a maltese cross with fire fighting equipment).
Formerly placed in Walden's Landing, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (USA), these firehouse themed critters were part of two 18 hole miniature golf courses.
The property in Pigeon Forge sported a water park from the 1970s until it was taken down in 2003. It was replaced with a shopping and entertainment center called Walden's Landing.
In 2007 the Firehouse Golf miniature golf courses were added to Walden's Landing. The firehouse themed courses were full of firefighting critters participating in bucket brigades and kitty rescues and included six waterfalls.
In 2017 the courses were torn up and the area bulldozed flat. Walden's Landing was changed to Lumberjack Feud and Adventure Park and new attractions were built.
I found the critters and miniature golf pieces from Walden's Landing shown in this collage cast aside in Alabama. Many of the pieces are broken and weeds are growing over many items.
Rest In Peace Walden's Landing Firehouse Critters.
