Description
The most famous street in The French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana is Bourbon Street. But one of the busiest tourists area is along the Mississippi River. This image is the skyline viewed from the walkway along the river.
The striped tent in the lower right hand corner is the docking area for the Steamboat Natchez. Designed to resemble the old steamships that once brought cotton, gamblers and jazz up and down the river, this modern vessel gives today's visitors a way to experience the Mississippi up close and view the skyline and intricate French Quarter roof-scape from the river.
The Jackson Brewery building, part of which is visible on the far left of this image, was designed and built in 1891. In the 1980s the building was purchased and used for shops and restaurants.
The octagon building in the foreground houses a tourist center.

Where's all the drunk revelers? Just teasing! Cool shot, love all the angles dangles and windows. They grow their trees on houses down there? Teasing again! Nice camera work.~DUG
Kathy K McClellan replied:
Thanks, DUG. The drunk revelers are down on Bourbon Street! I have so many photographs of that building with the palm trees on top. I am fascinated with those rooftop trees!
