Description
Ohio Valley Pizza by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day 219 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
DiCarlos Original Pizza is a regional favorite and different than any other pizza anywhere. One big difference is that the pepperoni and cheese are not baked onto the pizza. It's history, unique style, store locations and more can be found on their website.
The story of this regionally famous pizza started in the late 1800s with a bakery, opened and run by an immigrate family from Italy who settled in Steubenville, Ohio (USA).
In 1945 the sons were the first licensed pizza operators in the state of Ohio (USA) and the first in the United States to offer square slices of pizza for $.10 a slice.
The business is still owned and run by descendants of the original family.

I love regional favorites. I think I've heard of this one although I don't think we have any in Michigan.
