Description
Old Bank Tuscumbia Alabama by Kathy K. McClellan is an image created for Day 131 of the Journal 2022 Challenge.
I took this photograph in the Historic District of Tuscumbia, Alabama (USA). I knew it had been a bank originally because it is imprinted in the stone front of the building. It is obvious that the paint scheme was chosen to show off the important architectural features.
Highlighted details include Greek Ionic Column accents at the top of the brick corner pillars, arches that bend gracefully over the five windows and one door on the second floor, and three port hole windows that are placed above the windows and directly over the three light fixtures.
The architecture and district history suggests that this building was built in the mid to late 1800s.
