Description
There are numerous drainage structures along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Sometimes these structures keep a clear path from a bayou or marsh to the Gulf of Mexico or the Mississippi Sound. Sometimes these structures drain the roads and highways along the coast. You can see new, modern, vinyl structures as well as old wooden structures.
This particular photograph was taken of an old wooden structure that kept a clear path from a marsh area in Hancock County, Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico. The wood is obviously weathered and the natural coastal grasses have grown right up to the edges of the structure.

This is interesting! Has kept me captivated for some time. My eyes wandered down the row of boards and kept wandering into the grasses. Kept my eyes busy for a while. Nice job Kathy!~DUG
