Description
Pencil Shavings Negative View by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Week 10 of the 52 week Art Challenge (Theme: The World Inside). This is a square format image.
When photographic film is developed the dark areas on the negative end up as light areas on the final photograph. Where light hit the film the final photograph will show up as darker areas.
A similar process happens with colors producing warm colors where there were cool colors and vice versa.
Although the original photograph titled Pencil Shavings was taken with a digital camera, the digital file can be processed in software to appear as a negative that was produced by an analog camera that uses film.
That is how this image was created. Photo software was used to convert the light and colors on the digital film to look like a negative from a photograph produced using film.
