Description
Presbyterian Church Bell Tower by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day 230 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
This bell tower is atop the United Presbyterian Church in Antrim, Ohio (USA). I think that it is rather unusual, although a beautiful bell tower. The tower was photographed at dusk, not long after sunset.
The tower appears to be made up of three parts. A short base that anchors the tower to the roof is the first part with the second part being the most elaborate section. That section consists of two sharply arched openings. Between those openings a red colored cross rises to the sharp, triangular peak of that section.
The highest part of the tower, like the second part is four sided. This section is made up of triangles that meet at the apex of the tower and is often called a steeple.
Although the steeple is relatively short compared to most church steeples, it is the appropriate size to sit on top of this unique bell tower without taking the focus away from the bright red cross between those sharply arched openings.
