Description
Red Tennessee Barn by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day 225 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
We were traveling south on Interstate 65 through Tennessee (USA) and were not quite to Nashville when this red barn caught my attention. The barn was built on a gentle slope of the softly rolling hills that covered that area of the state.
Although the paint was failing on some areas of the barn, there were more red boards than not. The siding where the paint had weathered off was a typical gray that is often seen on old, unpainted wood.
The light gray metal roof showed rust in a few areas. Those areas complimented the red siding with the metal's rusty red hue.
The pasture in front of the barn blurred into a mass of bright green as we sped by. But the mixed hardwood forest behind the barn towered over it in various shades of green with most shades darker than the grasses.
I hope that you are filled with as calm and peaceful a feeling when you view this image as I was when I first saw it.
