Description
Richmond United Presbyterian Church by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day 250 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
The United Presbyterian Church in Richmond, Ohio (USA) was established in the early 1800s. A frame building for worship was erected in 1805 and served the congregation for nearly 150 years before burning to the ground.
The brick church building shown in this photograph was built in 1951 and continues to serve the Richmond congregation today.
Architectural features include a short steeple, built up brickwork on the corners of the building, capstones over the windows and a simple rose window with a circular brick surround accented with capstones.
The church also features a classroom wing, out of sight in this view and a basement.

I love that this church is high and lifted up!
Kathy K McClellan replied:
I love that both the Presbyterian and Methodist Churches are both high on hills where the land slopes down around them...and only about a block apart, too!

Lovely building. I do like the look of churches and they all have their own style.
Kathy K McClellan replied:
This one only has a few "classic" elements as it was built in the mid century era but they did include some so it's not altogether a modern building.
