Description
The photo was taken from a bass boat on the Jourdan River in southern Mississippi. These tents were set up in McCleod Park, operated and maintained by Hancock County (MS). The campground is usually full all summer as it was this day.
The Jourdan River is a tidal river, both freshwater and brackish water, that flows into the Bay of Saint Louis in Bay Saint Louis, MS. From there the waters of the Bay flow into the Gulf Of Mexico.
As the river flows through the park, all boats are required to travel at idle speed. Unless there's a strong tide that day the idle speed of the boats keeps the water as calm as possible allowing for visible reflections of the sights along the river banks.
