Description
Ruth's Roots Birdhouse Collage by Kathy K. McClellan is an image created for Day 350 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
This collage contains photographs of a few of the birdhouses located in Ruth's Roots, a community garden in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi (USA).
The birdhouses shown in this collage are only a few of the accommodations for birds at the garden. Some birdhouses there are mounted as single dwellings while others are mounted on posts with more than one birdhouse on the post. A few birdhouses are hanging from one or more of the trees in the garden.
The garden was named after the late Ruth Thompson and is located at the former location of Ruth's Cakery. The land was donated by Jim Thompson.
There is a chicken coop, butterfly house, rabbit enclosure, koi pond, blessing box, adult and children's lending libraries as well as several other attractions.
Garden vegetables and herbs are planted in raised beds. Eggs are donated to a local non-profit cafe.
The garden is open 24/7 and has been visited by people from all over the United States as well as several different countries.
