Description
Ruth's Roots Libraries Collage by Kathy K. McClellan is a collage created for Day 343 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
These photographs were taken in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi (USA) at Ruth's Roots, a community garden.
The garden contains three libraries, two book lending libraries, one for adults and one for children and a seed library.
Citizens are encouraged to take books to read and seeds to plant and then share their extra seeds and books with others who visit the garden.
There are many other attractions that are not shown in this collage including a chicken coop, butterfly house, rabbit enclosure, koi pond, stone chess board, blessing box as well as seasonal decorations and artwork.
The garden was named after the late Ruth Thompson and is located at the former location of Ruth's Cakery. The land was donated by Jim Thompson.
Garden vegetables and herbs are planted in raised beds and eggs are donated to a local non-profit cafe.
The garden is open 24/7 and has been visited by people from all over the United States as well as several different countries.

Such a caring community!

This whole garden started as a project for youth in the court system from what I could find.
