Meet Jackie, the model for this image. She was a shelter dog whose back legs had been broken and left to heal (improperly) on their own. That caused Jackie, not only an unnatural stance but was also painful for her. She was rescued from the shelter by Brown Dog Coalition, fostered in a private home and is having surgery on her legs. Those surgeries will correct her problems, get her out of pain and ready for her forever home.
