Winter can be cold and dreary, especially drab when snowing. White snowflakes against a gray winter landscape can bring on boring, cold feelings.
This shade of red is considered a cool red making it an appropriate color for any sense of lower temperatures that it might evoke. But it's deep, rich hue denies any drab perception of a snowstorm.
The stark contrast between the white snowflakes falling from the sky and the deep red background will wake one up from winter's sleepy grasp.
