Thick As A Brick was the title of the fifth studio album by Jethro Tull, a British rock band.
The album was a parody of the concept album genre. It contains a continuous piece of music, split over two sides of an LP record (an album).
The album was recorded In December 1971, released on March 3, 1972 and is considered to be Progressive Rock style.
Although Ian Anderson co-credited the writing to a schoolboy named Gerald Bostock, Gerald was a fictional character and Ian wrote all of the lyrics himself.
