Description
Trimmed With Brick by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day 260 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
This photograph was taken in Nashville, Georgia (USA). I was standing on the balcony of a second story hotel looking across the street. The building I was looking at is very old and I was fascinated by the brick trim around the windows and along the roof line.
I don't know the history of this building or when it was built but nine over six window panes were popular from the late 1700s to the late 1800s.
The building houses retail space on the first floor and living space on the second story. It was built on the corner of the town square, opposite the county courthouse.
Interestingly the first floor windows and doors are not trimmed in brick.

I love this architectural detail!
Kathy K McClellan replied:
I wonder if the entire wall was brick originally and covered with stucco later.
