Description
Tuscumbia Balcony Kaleidoscope by Kathy K. McClellan is an image created for Day 132 of the Journal 2022 Challenge. This is a square image.
I stood under a balcony in the Historic District of Tuscumbia, Alabama (USA) and was fascinated at the contrast in textures between the wood ceiling and the metal railing. I snapped a few photographs and walked on down the street.
When I looked at the photographs of the balcony on my computer screen I was disappointed at first. There were so many imperfections, namely spider webs and wasp nests, that I thought the photograph might be useless.
However, transforming the photograph into a negative and then manipulating it as a kaleidoscope I saw an abstract work of art that fascinated me as much as the balcony did the day that I stood under it, looking up.

Amazing process of transformation, from something you thought was not so special to this dynamic piece.
