Water Beginning To Boil by Kathy K. McClellan is an image created for Day One of the Seven Day Macro Kitchen Challenge.

Fascinated by the bubbles beginning to break the surface of the water I grabbed my camera. I was boiling a large pot of water to cook elbow macaroni pasta for Macaroni and Cheese.

When the bubbles first popped up to the surface they were all shaped like small circles. But then some bubbles took on more of an oval shape. Trying to get as many captures as possible before the steam dulled my shots, I barely noticed what was transpiring.

There before me where mandala shaped images. Those shapes lasted a split second before they were replaced by new bubbles pushing up through them.

What a pleasant surprise that I was able to capture a few of those special shapes.

Who knew that a macro photograph of boiling water could become Abstract Art!
