Description
Slowing down is exactly what this gentleman was doing. Hurricane Katrina destroyed his home, nearly all of his possessions, his wife's job and car and most of the city he lived in. Four months after the storm he bought his wife this bright red tricycle. The basket on the back was for the friend's dog they were caring for and a basket on the front was for his wife's camera bag.
The tricycle, camera and dog were major factors in his wife's sanity as they tried to rebuild their lives in the midst of confusion, filth and heartbreak.
Life is not simple and yet sometimes the simplest things in life are the most rewarding.
This photograph was taken in Bay Saint Louis, MS, ground zero for Hurricane Katrina.
