This view was from our front porch in July 2010. This series of barges was being used as an operations headquarters in the Gulf Of Mexico during the BP Oil Disaster.
One of these barges holds an entire two story building that looks like an office and storage structure, complete with air conditioning.
The Macdono well blewout on April 20, 2010. That summer when tropical storms in the Gulf Of Mexico threatened equipment that was being used as part of the initial clean up the barges were moved through the Bay of Saint Louis and into the Jourdan River in Hancock County, Mississippi.

Amazing all the maneuvering they need to do out there in the bay....I think you captured it well.
Kathy K McClellan replied:
Thanks, Roberta! Yes, a few barges miscalculated and actually got stuck on sandbars and one could not maneuver off the bar till the tide came back in!
