Artist's Description
These images show just one of many of FEMA's staging areas for travel trailers that were used as temporary housing after Hurricane Katrina.
Thousands of travel trailers were brought to this staging area in Purvis, MS and stored until they could be delivered and set up on residents' properties. This same area was also used for the trailers that were no longer needed after residents rebuilt, found other housing or moved out of the area.
The photographs of this staging area were taken from a nearby interstate highway.

Amazing.
Kathy K McClellan replied:
It was, too. As far as you could see on that side of the interstate there were travel trailers lined up.
