Richmond Water Tower by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day 247 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
Richmond, Ohio is a village in Jefferson County, Ohio (USA) with a population between 400-500. The area is considered part of the Weirton, WV - Steubenville, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Municipal corporations in Ohio with a population of 5,000 or less are villages.
The village of Richmond was established in 1815 and has had a post office since 1817. Richmond residents before and during the Civil War were very involved in the Underground Railroad movement.
I took this photograph of the village water tower during a recent visit. Trying to avoid many electrical lines as I composed the image, I didn't realize that there were workmen on the tower. It was only when uploading the photograph to my computer that I saw the two men doing some type of maintenance or repair on the very top of the tower.
