Female Hummingbird Landing In Alabama by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image of a Female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird.
This hummingbird is landing on the uppermost branch of a tall everygreen shrub. She has found herself in Florence, Alabama (USA) in the state's Northwestern corner.
There is a human supplied feeder full of sugar water to the left of the photographer and she is eyeing the camera as it makes soft clicking sounds.
She has not completely stopped flying as evidenced by the slight motion blur of her wings. The early morning sun is highlighting the contrast between her cream colored chest and the dark red brick wall behind her.
The photograph was taken in mid September as this Female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird started her migration south, possibly to the Gulf Coast regions of the United States, but most likely to Mexico.
