Reflection Of A Tulip Bloom by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day Five of the Five Day Art Challenge (Theme: Reflections).
Today's image was a learning experiment that took several hours and two different photo software programs before creating the final image!
The bloom was one of several in a potted plant that I was given for International Women's Day. I took several photographs of the blooms as they opened up over several days.
I chose this photograph, with the bloom starting to open, for the image that I wanted to created. This bloom shows the stamens and pistils as it is opening.
The reflection appears as it would with the tulip bloom laying on a mirror. If this had been a tulip blooming along a river bank, the reflection may have been distorted by moving water, whereas a mirror is stationary.
