Description
From Vine To Wine is a photograph taken by Kathy K. McClellan.
There are five basic steps to making wine: harvesting, crushing and pressing, fermentation, clarification, and aging and bottling. This sounds simple and yet the entire process can be made very complicated with deviations to the process.
What type of grape is harvested will depend on what type of wine that is being made.
The type of wine being made can also dictate the crushing and pressing process, what fermentation process is used and how it is aged as well as how long it is aged.
From vine in the field to wine in a glass can take anywhere from a few months to several years according to the type of wine and aging process involved.

Congratulations on your contest win. This photo is simple, yet clearly seen, detail at a time. Myself looking at it as the various phases of dryness and simplicity.
