Description

Torchiere Lamp After Dark Enameled is an image by Kathy K. McClellan that originated as a photograph taken after dark for the One Day Challenge with surprise theme: After Dark.

One Day Challenge was a challenge to produce a work of art (entirely in one day) with a specific theme with the theme being announced at the last minute. The theme for this challenge was After Dark.

After taking several photographs both inside and out (after dark) I chose one of my inside images to process.

This image shows a torchiere lamp, a tall lamp producing indirect light by having it's bulb concealed in a bowl that directs its light upward. The lamp, photographed in a living room with it's bulb turned on, is placed in front of soji screen, a translucent screen with a framework of wood covered in rice paper. Both the lamp and the screen are displayed in front of a textured wall. I used software to add another dimension of color and texture in what is referred to as an enameled look.

When viewing this image close up there is a colored texture throughout the entire image.
