My Friend At Sunset by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day 183 of the 365 Challenge.

When I was taking sunset photographs in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi and saw boats in the bay, I would take a few captures with those boats in the scene.

Most boats in the bay at this time of night were coming in and going to the boat ramp to take their boat out of the water or they were going up river for the night.

But this boat was going out towards the Mississippi Sound and the Gulf Of Mexico. I thought that was very adventurous for this time of the evening in a skiff.

After getting the photograph on my computer where I could get a better look at it I realized that I knew this boater! He would often motor up into some of the bayous on the east side of the bay in the evening hours and was not headed toward the Sound or out in the Gulf at all.

Knowing the boater in this particular "boats in the sunset" shot made this sunset personal and special for me. Now, when I look at this image I smile because I know that's my friend in that boat.
