Description
Chiminea Fire At Sunset by Kathy K. McClellan is an image created for Day Three of the Fire Themed Challenge 18.
The chiminea in this photograph was a Hurricane Katrina survivor. Although the owner's house was blown to pieces, the wind and water left the vessel laying on it's side but unbroken. What a blessing it was for those chilly evenings after the storm.
Escaping from the confines of a FEMA provided travel trailer, the landowner was able to sit in front of a chiminea fire and enjoy the sunset.
Looking through a maze of broken trees, a tiny portion of the Bay of St. Louis can be seen reflecting the bright, colorful sunset off of the water.
Pieces of lumber from a new house being built in the neighborhood provided the fuel for the evening's fire.
The chiminea sunset fire provided a peaceful moment among the stresses of Katrina's aftermath.

That's pretty! Makes me wish I were relaxing there in front of it, watching the sun set.
