Description
This was the view from our back porch in July 2010. This series of barges was being used as an operations headquarters in the Gulf Of Mexico during the BP Oil Disaster.
One of these barges holds an entire two story building that looks like an office and storage structure, complete with air conditioning.
The Macdono well blewout on April 20, 2010. That summer, when tropical storms in the Gulf Of Mexico threatened equipment that was being used as part of the initial clean up, the barges were moved through the Bay of Saint Louis and into the Jourdan River in Hancock County, Mississippi.

Work that is determined by the weather!
Kathy K McClellan replied:
Work that was stopped by the weather! It was also very concerning for residents along the Gulf Coast. A tropical storm would have deposited even more oil on the marshes and shorelines.
