Description
Ruth's Roots Dog Library by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day 352 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
"TAKE A STICK - LEAVE A STICK - DOG LIBRARY"
How cute is this! A dog library consisting of sticks instead of books!
This sign is located at Ruth's Roots, a community garden in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi (USA). There was not only a stick nailed to this sign but several on the deck surrounding the tree that this sign was mounted onto. There was a metal dog and fire hydrant art piece on the side of the steps leading up to the deck and two sticks beside those sculptures.
The garden was named after the late Ruth Thompson and is located at the former location of Ruth's Cakery. The land was donated by Jim Thompson.
There is a chicken coop, butterfly house, rabbit enclosure, blessing box, adult and children's lending libraries as well as several other attractions.
Garden vegetables and herbs are planted in raised beds. Eggs are donated to a local non-profit cafe.
The garden is open 24/7 and has been visited by people from all over the United States as well as several different countries.
