Description
Bayou House Reflection is a photographic image processed for Day 168 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
Living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast meant time on the water. I loved motoring up and down the Jourdan River and exploring bayous and canals that branched off of that river.
Elevated houses were built all along the canals and bayous. It was quite a treat for me to view and photograph reflections of those houses as we idled through the waterfront communities.
Often, as in this photograph, the water was still enough for you to be able to identify the structures in the reflections. Sometimes, however, what you saw was an abstract of nature, looking nothing like the real object of the reflection.
I especially love that huge oak tree between the house and the bayou. No doubt that oak was towering high overhead, probably higher than the house built on stilts!
