Description
First National Bank Cadiz, Ohio by Kathy K. McClellan is a photographic image created for Day 237 of the 365 Challenge (Journal 2022).
This building in Cadiz, Ohio (USA) was formerly the First National Bank. It was built in 1905 and suffered a devastating fire in 2011.
In 2015 the building's owners donated the bank and an adjacent building to the city for redevelopment. An old hotel and the adjacent building were demolished in 2016 but the old bank building's structure was left standing.
The facade of this structure contains a variety of incredible detail work including, but not limited to, arches, ionic columns, a bracketed cornice, lion head gargoyles, and torches.
Redevelopment plans call for restoration of the old bank building for new, modern uses. In July 2022, the space where the two demolished buildings had been was an empty green space.

Nice capture of this architecture and the pigeons are cool on that ledge!
Kathy K McClellan replied:
Thanks Gaby. Those pigeons seem to like all the older Cadiz buildings from what I saw around town!
